Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (“ONGC”), a Fortune 500 company of the Government of India, owns significant natural gas reserves in the North Eastern state of Tripura. However, these natural gas reserves are yet to be commercially developed due to low industrial demand in the North-Eastern region. The complexities of logistics and attendant costs limit the economic viability of transportation of gas to other parts of the country where gas is in deficit. In order to optimally utilise the gas available in Tripura, ONGC proposes to initially develop a 726.6 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) thermal power plant (“the Project”) close to its gas fields in the state of Tripura and supply power to the deficit areas of North Eastern States of India.
Assistant Manager (Operation)
Education: BE/ BTECH (Mechanical) from a recognized University with at least 60% marks.
Job Location: Palatana, Tripura
Work Experience: At least, 05 years of post qualification executive experience in the relevant area.
Job Domain:
- Setting up of system & processes for Operations at Site
- Competent to lead the Operations team in handling normal plant operations including scheduling, load dispatch, trading, start ups, shut downs and shift management in a large size thermal power plant (preferably Gas based)
- Competent to take decisions for Operation related issues on real time basis without jeopardizing plant safety
- Ensure commercial viability of the Operations of the Power Plant
- Assessment of risks in the plant and plan mitigation initiatives
- Benchmark industry best practices / system / process for performance enhancement
- Experience in dealing with RLDC, NLDC and State Utilities / Industrial Buyers
- Liaison with statutory / regulatory / legal / environmental authorities for information / approvals.
