National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) is a premier institution engaged in research in the frontier areas of Neuroscience to understand the function of healthy and diseased brain. With the goal to provide seamless transition from classroom training to high-quality research in challenging areas of Neuroscience, NBRC offers Ph.D. and Integrated Ph.D. programmes in Neuroscience for exceptionally meritorious and motivated students. Admissions for the year 2011 will be through a written test followed by a 2-tier interview. In this regard, NBRC invites applications for its Ph.D. and Integrated Ph.D. programmes. The research areas in NBRC are broadly divided into :
1. Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience
2. Systems and Cognitive Neuroscience
- 3. Computational Neuroscience and Neuro Imaging
Ph.D. (NEUROSCIENCE)
Eligibility: BE/ BTECH/ MCA
INTEGRATED Ph.D. (NEUROSCIENCE)
Eligibility: BE/ BTECH (Computer Science) or Equivalent.
Selection: Shortlisted candidates after the written test will be called for a two-tier interview at NBRC. The final selection will be based on the performance in the interview. The dates for the interview will be intimated later, and will also be posted on NBRC website. The decision of the screening / selection committee will be final and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the applicant. The candidates finally selected for the Ph.D. or Integrated Ph.D. programmes will be eligible for scholarship as per NBRC rules and will be provided hostel accommodation on a sharing basis.
Fee Details: Rs. 700/- for general candidates and Rs. 350/- for SC/ST/PH applicants.
