The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) came into existence on 27th October 1986 for development and regulation of inland waterways for shipping and navigation. The Authority primarily undertakes projects for development and maintenance of IWT infrastructure on national waterways through grant received from Ministry of Shipping. The head office of the Authority is at Noida.

Education: BE/ BTECH
(Civil/ Marine/ Mechanical/ Naval Architect) from a recognized University.
Age Limit: Max. 35 years
Pay Scale: Rs. 15,600–39,100/ – + Grade pay of Rs. 5400/-
Work Experience: 03 years experience in a supervisory capacity in, investigations, design planning, and constructions Civil Engineering works including repairs and maintenance; OR various branches of Mechanical / Marine Engineering works including experience in repair and maintenance of harbor crafts OR Design, Planning and constructions of vessels in shipyards or Marine Organisation.
Desired: Experience in works connected with Inland Waterways in dredging, river conservancy works, river training marking of fairways
