As recommended by the Committee, the Institute for Development & Research in Banking Technology [IDRBT] was established by the Reserve Bank of India in 1996 as an Autonomous Centre for Development and Research in Banking Technology.
The Indian Banking Sector has notched up significant successes ever since the days of nationalization. The Reserve Bank of India, the country�s Central Bank, is constantly innovating in its endeavor to upgrade the countrys Payment System, and Information Technology is playing a critical role in it. The Banking Industry too has realized the essentiality of technologising , and is adopting Information Technology in a big way in all its strategic/functional/operational processes and applications.
The Reserve Bank of India constituted a committee on �Technology Up gradation in the Payments System� in the year 1994 under the Chairmanship of Shri W.S.Saraf, the then Executive Director of RBI. In its report submitted in December 1994, the committee emphasized that an apex level Institute be set up to undertake development and research in the area of Information Technology applied to the financial sector, with specific focus on banking.

Eligibility: BE/ BTECH with
1st division from a recognized/ reputed and must have a good record throughout the academics.
Work Experience:
Networking Executives: Minimum 02 years experience in Network Implementation, Management, Operation, Maintenance of large critical and complex communication networks. Areas of exposure includes hardware (including routers, switches) and components such as firewalls, IDS, IPS, DNS, security components and technologies relating to LAN, WAN as well as point-to-point connectivity, MPLS, Network Monitoring Systems, managed services, etc. Exposure to network-based operations in a bank would be an added advantage.
Cyber Security Executives: Minimum 02 years experience in Information Security Implementation, IS Management, Cyber Patrolling, Anti-phishing and Anti-hacking experience in a large critical establishment. Proven hands-on experience in international standards such as ISMS, managing large systems/ networks, firewalls, DNS, IPS, IDS, etc., on both a WAN-based CUG as well as public networks, IT forensics, latest technologies relating to information security, emergency response measures etc., will be added advantage.
