Roles and Responsibilities: Formulates and designs software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design. Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation. Translates logical designs into physical designs taking into account the target environment, performance requirements, and existing systems. Produces detailed designs including physical data flows, file layouts, common routines and utilities, program specifications or prototypes, along with backup, recovery, and restart procedures.
