Candidates applying must have strong hold on Computer Science Fundamentals, Sorting and Searching Algorithms, Compiler and Parser development. He should possess good logical concepts. Candidates who like working and contributing to open source projects will be preferred.
Candidates can impress company executives by talking about "code" or the "spec document" that he has written/contributed in the past during engineering projects or during corporate internships.
