Introduction:

Only unmarried candidates can join Indian Army. Both male and female candidates can apply for UES after completing their engineering degree (Btech or B.E. ), whichever applies. 

 

Mainly UES or University Entrance Scheme has two modes of selection which we call as commissions. These two modes are

Firstly, The Short Service Commission or SSC. in which the candidates have the option of joining Indian Army and serving as a Commissioned Officer for 10 years. After 10years, the wish is of the candidate if he wants to continue or discontinue his services to the Army.

Secondly, The Permanent Commission which means a career in the Army till retirement. For a Permanent commission you have to join the National Defense Academy or the Indian Military Academy .

This present post considers the 19th University Entry Scheme (19 UES) for Permanent Commission in Indian Army July 2010-2011.

Unmarried female candidates in final year of engineering degree can also apply by putting her option for SSC (T) W -6 only commencing in October-2010.

Students in Final year and 3rd year can also

apply for the above job.

Eligibility criteria for joining the Indian Army:

Age :

Final Year Degree applicant- 19 years to 25 years

Pre-Final Year Degree applicant – 18 years to 24 years,

TGC-111 – 20 to 27 years, TGC-113 – 20 to 27 years, SSC (Technical) Men -35 : 20-27 years, SSC (Technical) Men-37 : 20 – 27 year,

SSC (Technical) Women -6 : 20 – 27 years.

Pay Scale: You need not to worry about payscale. Its decent Thanks to 6th pay commission. (Rs. 8250-300-10050) …DA etc are excluded from this.

Vacancies : 60 posts (for UES) (Civil-8, Electrical-8, Mechanical-6, Computer Science-7, Telecom-8, Electronics-7, IT-3, Architecture-3, Public Health Engineering -2, Construction Engineering -3, Industrial Engg. & Management -3, Mining-2)

Last date of receipt of application : 13^th August, 2009.

Physical Standards:

Height-157.5 cm, For Gorkhas and individuals belongings to hills of North Easter region of India, Garhwal and Kumaon, the minimum height will be 5 cm less. For candidates from Lakshadweep the height will be reduced by 2 cms.

Application procedure:

Application should be on a plain paper as per the prescribed format.

A white envelope containing the application should be Super scribed in Red ink indicating clearly the branch of BE/ Btech applied for i.e ‘ Application for 19 UES Entry : ……… Engineering.

  Two unstamped self addressed envelop to receive an interview call letter should also be enclosed with the application.
