Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) is a National Centre of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai. The broad goals of the Centre are to promote equity and excellence in science and mathematics education from primary school to undergraduate college level, and encourage the growth of scientific literacy in the country. Three decades after its inception, HBCSE has emerged as the premier institution in the country for research and development in science, technology and mathematics education. It is India’s nodal centre for Olympiad programmes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Astronomy. HBCSE (TIFR) runs a Graduate School in Science Education. Students admitted to HBCSE Graduate School work towards the Ph.D. degree of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) which is a Deemed University.

Educational Background: Professional bachelor Degree (B. Tech.) with 50% or more marks. The candidates should have competence in Hindi language and be able to translate educational materials from English to Hindi. Candidates should be proficient in the use of computers preferably with Hindi software and should be willing to work in the area of dissemination of science and development of educational multimedia/learning systems in Hindi.

Emoluments: RS.10,000/ during the first year, Rs. 11,000/ during the second year and Rs. 12,000/ during the third year + 30% HRA in lieu of Government accommodation.
