Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd (GRSE), is the premier Warship building Company in India, under the administrative control of Ministry of Defence. GRSE since 1960, has built 94 warships for various roles, starting from state of the art Frigates & Corvettes to Fast Patrol Boats. GRSE has played a very important role in the defence preparedness of the country and has always risen to the occasion in the national mission of design and construction of warship indigenously.

The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) came into existence on 27th October 1986 for development and regulation of inland waterways for shipping and navigation. The Authority primarily undertakes projects for development and maintenance of IWT infrastructure on national waterways through grant received from Ministry of Shipping. The head office of the Authority is at Noida.

CSL also has an exclusive area set for offshore construction and future expansion. As one of the India's top 10 public sector undertakings, CSL has been rated excellent by the Government of India, four times in a row for achieving the targets set for the yard under the MOU system.
Cochin Shipyard was incorporated in the year 1972 as a fully owned Government of India company. In the last three decades the company has emerged as a forerunner in the Indian Shipbuilding & Shiprepair industry. This yard can build and repair the largest vessels in India. It can build ships upto 1,10,000 DWT and repair ships upto 1,25,000 DWT. The yard has delivered two of India’s largest double hull Aframax tankers each of 95,000 DWT . CSL has secured shipbuilding orders from internationally renowned companies from Europe & Middle East and is nominated to build the country’s first indigenous Air Defense Ship.
